<p>De sociale virksomheder vinder frem. Ledelse af sociale virksomheder er<br />
en krævende disciplin. Hvad skal der til for at lykkes med en sådan virksomhed?<br />
Sociale virksomheder er ofte bæredygtige og innovative og er karakteriserede<br />
ved at have et socialt og/eller et samfundsmæssigt formål øverst på<br />
agendaen. De kaldes også Social Enterprises i UK eller undertiden Socialøkonomiske<br />
Virksomheder. Lederne af sociale virksomheder (SV) udviser<br />
en særlig evne til at navigere multidisciplinært og hybridorganiseret. De<br />
anvender markedsbaserede strategier og integrerer elementer fra både<br />
den private og den offentlige sektor og fra NGO-verdenen. Herudover<br />
geninvesteres overskuddet i det sociale formål.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Artikelen har til formål at bidrage til en diskussion om, hvordan social ansvarlighed kan accelereres, kvalificeres og skaleres. <br />
Den peger på, at social innovation kan blive én af de mulige løsningsmodeller, der vil sætte dagsordenen i fremtiden efter år 2010, når det meget vigtige klimatopmøde er klinget af, og arbejdet med social ansvarlighed kan bredes ud til et større spektrum af globale og nationale problemstillinger og løsninger end de miljørelaterede. <br />
Artiklen foreslår, at én af inspirationskilderne til de social innovationer kan være de CSR-drevne små- og mellemstore virksomheder (SMV’er), der i partnerskaber kombinerer CSR med strategi og innovation på vejen til succes. <br />
I dette særlige felt af virksomhedstyper behandler artiklen emner som skalering, forretningsmodeller, åben innovation og tostrenget værdiskabelse.<br />

The political context of our economy is rapidly changing, particularly in regard to incentives that operate outside the marketplace in a strict and narrow sense and involve interactions between corporations and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), activist groups, regulatory bodies, consumers, and civil society. These interactions can significantly color a corporation&#8217;s alternatives, making socially or environmentally harmful behavior much less attractive. British Petroleum, for example, has voluntarily reduced its greenhouse gas emissions over the past ten years, Starbucks, has changed the environmental impact of its coffee production, and Nike and other footwear and textile makers now monitor the labor conditions of their subcontractors.<br />
<em>When Principles Pay</em> jumps headfirst into this engaging and vital issue, asking whether profit maximization and the generation of value for shareholders is compatible with policies that support social and environmental goals. Geoffrey Heal presents a comprehensive examination of how social and environmental performance affects a corporation&#8217;s profitability and how the stock market reacts to a firm&#8217;s social and environmental behavior. </div>
